I've been running my "blog" and news type site for a couple of years now, all based on Drupal. I cover boating, cruising (especially river and canal crusing) and home building. Been quite happy with Drupal, although performance in a shared hosting environment sometimes suffers a little.

Looking to upgrade to Drupal 6 as soon as a couple of modules are ready.

This video shows you how to Install Drupal 6 and shows off the new, improved installer. It walks you through all the steps, including downloading Drupal, putting it on your site with FTP, setting up a database and running the installation script. It also looks at some common roadblocks and how to get around them.

We at Young Innovations Pvt. Ltd had recently jotted down a "Drupal How to for Beginners" which mainly deals with setting up a Drupal website and adding, editing some content. It is based on Drupal 5.2.I've uploaded the file in the location below, hope you people benefit from it. It is 90+ pages .pdf file with step by step explanation and screen-shots. Its 5.67 MB so may take time if you have a slow connection and don't know if media fire supports download accelerators.
